Weld End Globe Valves

Description

Globe valve is also called stop valve or shut off valve. Weld end globe valves in KERUI are certified by API 6D and DIN standard. They are mainly utilized for regulating flow in such pipelines as tap water, sewage, construction, petroleum, metallurgy, energy system, etc. They are widely used in such applications requiring throttling and frequent operation.

Advantages

1. Weld end globe valves feature good sealing performance, small friction between sealing faces and long service life.
2. Stop valves need low torque to open.
3. Valve body is precisely cast.
4. Valve disc of shut off valves is processed by CNC technology.
5. They have simple structure, leading to convenient installation and maintenance.

Features

1. When starting or stopping weld end globe valves, the disc stroke is short. Therefore, its height is a bit lower than that of gate valves, but the structure length is longer.
2. Medium passway of stop valves is quite zigzag, so the hydraulic resistance is large, leading to big power consumption.
3. When in use, the medium flow direction in shut off valves is unidirectional and its flow direction can not be changed.

Attention

1. Before installation, remove all foreign matters in the weld end globe valves by flushing with water or compressed air. End connections should be carefully checked and cleaned.
2. Stop valves work best when standing upright, with stem pointing straight up.
3. Installing shut off valve with its stem down is not recommended.
4. The arrow marking on the body indicates the flow direction.

Operation

1. Before putting weld end globe valve into service, check the size, ends, material and pressure temperature limitation of the valve with the operating parameters for capacity and compatibility.
2. Stop valves are closed by turning in the clockwise direction and opened by turning in the anti-clockwise direction.
3. Shut off valves are normally used for regulation. The proper functioning of the installed valve should be checked by opening and closing several times.

Maintenance

1. For reasons of safety and to reduce maintenance and repair costs, all weld end globe valves should be maintained regularly.
2. Lubricate the moving parts such as stem and stuffing box screws with oil or grease.
3. Repack or replace the gland packing and cover gaskets in proper time to ensure long service life of valves.
